8th Annual Bike Bash
The City of Auburn and the Auburn Bicycle Committee will
host the 8th Annual Bike Bash on Saturday, April 14 from
8:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. at the Ogletree Village Shopping
Center, located on the corner of Moores Mill Road and
Ogletree Road. Bike
Bash is an annual
community event
designed to inform
citizens about bicycle
safety and promote
biking as a fun
and healthy leisure
activity, in addition
to emphasizing local
bike-friendly facilities
in and around Auburn. Bicycle rides of varying distances will
be offered for beginners and advanced riders. This year, an
additional ‘mini-ride” will be offered for small children just
learning how to ride. Registration is $9 for youth 12 and
under and $12 for adults. The family rate is $25 and applies
to two or more persons living in a household. Participants
may register at the event on Saturday morning but are not

volunteer applications through

more information and an application. Auburn CityFest,
presented by the Opelika-Auburn News, will be held on
Saturday, April 28 from 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. at Kiesel Park.
Auburn Public Library Upcoming Events
Book Group
The Auburn Public Library Book Group will meet on
Tuesday, April 17 at 6:30 p.m. This month’s theme includes
humorous fiction and non-fiction books.
Book Sale
The Friends of the Auburn Public Library will host a book
sale on Saturday, April 21 from 9:00 a.m.-noon on the Library
lawn. In the event of rain, the sale will be rescheduled to
Sunday, April 22 from 2:00 p.m.- 5:00 p.m.
Movie Matinee
The Adult Services Division of the Auburn Public Library will
host a movie matinee on Saturday, April 21 at 2:00 p.m.
Book Reading
The Auburn Public Library will host New York Times
bestselling author Sena Jeter Naslund and new author John
Sims Jeter on Sunday, April 29 at 3:00 p.m. Ms. Naslund will
read from her new book, Abundance: A Novel of Marie
Antoinette, and Mr. Jeter will discuss his novel, And the
Angels Sang. Seating is limited.
